TIRE CIRCUS

Tire Circus is a photo magazine about the creative side of fixing up bikes and the customizations of bike making. Most of the bikes seen in this book were cheap or free and fixed up and made new. Through photography and local interviews, readers are treated to an inside look at how people can transform cheap or discarded bikes into functional works of art.

To capture the essence of Tire Circus, I drew inspiration from street photography magazines and interviews in music publications. Each interview section opens with illustrations and titles that are in the styles of punk and circus-inspired art which best shows the unique aesthetic of bike customization.

In line with the magazine's edgy and unconventional approach, I opted to use black and white film to create a distinct and timeless look. This decision was driven by my desire to create a magazine that stands out from the crowd and shows bike culture through street photography.
